Check out my lamb burger with cucumber mint yogurt, lettuce, cucumber, tomato and apple smoked onions from Bareburger, a crunchy all-organic, locally sourced, grass-fed burger place in Astoria and a few other locations around NYC.

I have got to hand it to this place, they make a decent burger AND are trying, it seems, to run a reasonable and sustainable restaurant. Their burger options range from beef, turkey, veggie, portabella mushroom, free-range chicken, lamb wild boar, elk, and ostrich. I LOVE Ostrich (the other red meat as I call it) and also I have been wanting to try elk for a very long time so I definitely will be back soon.

Also, for a pickle fiend like myself, they offered a delectable pickle plate (pictured above) with sweet, hot and kosher sliced pickled cucumbers. Proof!
God dammit. I’ve been looking for an excuse to go to the one on 17th and 8th.. This may be it.
Do it man. I’ll go with you, I want to try the Elk burger.
